Carolina Beach is a family-centered beach with a unique and fun personality. It’s home to a boardwalk that gives off vintage vibes, has a state park, and numerous oceanfront restaurants and bars. Located only 10.5 miles from Riverlights, Carolina Beach is the spot to choose if you are looking for the closest beach getaway.
If you continue south past Carolina Beach you will run directly into Kure Beach, a small beach town full of history. It is home to the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and the Civil War era Fort Fisher State Historic Site and National Park. While here, you can also hop aboard the “Drive-On” Fort Fisher Ferry and head to Southport for a fun day trip.
Named one of America’s greatest surf towns, Wrightsville Beach is full of action and fun for everyone to enjoy. The town is home to five miles of wide, sandy beaches and crystal blue water. Surf the waves, go for a swim in the Atlantic, or paddle board with Wrightsville SUP on the Intracoastal Waterway.
