Valentine's Day in the City

Love is in the air and now is the time to start planning for a romantic evening on the town! Need advice on narrowing down your Valentine’s Day plans? Or maybe, you are planning a special Galentine’s Day evening with your besties! Either way, we have a great round-up of lovely ways to spend Valentine’s Day in Wilmington

 

Wrightsville Beach Valentine Run – What better way to kick off Valentine’s Day weekend than with a 5K at Wrightsville Beach! On Saturday, February 12 participants will run in a 5K or 10K around the island. You are encouraged to wear red, white, and pink to get into the spirit of LOVE! Valentine’s Day Pairing by Flytrap Brewing & Grateful Graze – Looking for plans on February 14th? Bring your loved one to Flytrap Brewing for a flight of 4 limited beers paired with 4 cheese and charcuterie bites from Grateful Glaze, with accouterments and the delicious beer mustard & chutney from Simply Shorty. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased on the event’s website

 

Galentine’s Day Wine & Chocolate Pairing –Bring your gal pals to Club Golf in Marina Village on February 8 for a wine tasting paired with chocolates. There will be 2 whites, 1 Brut Rose, and 2 reds.  Discount bottle prices will range from $15-$24! The price of the pairing event will be $15 for 5 (half) pours.

 

80’s Valentines Prom Party: The Beehive Blondes, Jess and Hannah, are hosting an 80’s prom theme party at Satellite Bar and Lounge on Saturday, February 12 at 9:30 pm. The Beehive Blondes are DJs known in the Wilmington area for hosting retro dance parties. Bring out your vintage 80’s prom looks, as a prom king and queen will be crowned. 

 

Dinner with a Sunset ViewSmoke on the Water in Marina Village is taking reservations for a special Valentine’s Day dinner. There will be live music from 5-7 pm will Bill Kerr to make your romantic celebration that much better! And of course, enjoy the breathtaking sunset views of the Cape Fear River. The menu for two includes a four-course meal hand selected by Chef James Smith.

 

Staycation at the Rosehill Inn Bed & Breakfast – This Victorian mansion located in Historic Downtown Wilmington, dates back to 1848 and is the perfect place to spend a lovely Valentine’s Day weekend. Galentine’s Day Tarot & Palm Reading – On February 11, Hi-Wire Brewing will host a market with crafts, tarot cards, and palm readings. Ticket proceeds will go to the Lower Cape Fear Diaper Bank. Tarot and palm readings will be given by Madame Cat of Conjure and Madame Jaya of Maha Village. Get your presale tickets today and bring your friends to this fun Galentine’s Day event! 

 

Romantic Valentine Carriage Ride –Make your reservation for a romantic old-fashioned carriage ride through Historic Downtown Wilmington. Starting February 11th, through the 14th private carriage rides will be available. Dinner with an Ocean View – Take your partner to Oceanic in Wrightsville Beach for a one-of-a-kind Valentine’s with views of the Atlantic Ocean. The restaurant will feature a special holiday menu all weekend that is sure to “wow” your loved one. Don’t forget to start or end the evening with a romantic walk on the beach or stroll on the historic Crystal Pier.
