Looking for a fun day trip to take this summer? We've listed a few of our favorite destinations that are located 100 miles or less from Riverlights. Each city has unique features that are guaranteed to bring a memorable day trip with your family and friends! 

 

Bald Head Island, NC

Leave the city life behind for the day and hop aboard the ferry departing from Southport to Bald Head Island, one of North Carolina’s best kept hidden secrets. Reserve a golf cart or bike to travel around the island and explore the natural habitat of the community. Make sure to visit Old Baldy, the oldest lighthouse in North Carolina. Have lunch at one of local restaurants and dip your toes in the Atlantic Ocean.

Bald Head Island

New Bern, NC

This riverfront city is the second-oldest European-American colonial town in North Carolina. Explore the area’s signature locations such as Tryon Palace, the Cedar Grove Cemetery, and the birth place of Pepsi Cola. Enjoy shopping in local boutiques on Middle Street in downtown New Bern, and finish the day with dinner at a local restaurant.

In only an hour and a half drive you can be right in the middle of the fun and excitement of Myrtle Beach! Visit Top Golf at Broadway at the Beach for a fun golf experience that the entire family will enjoy. Stop by the Tanger Outlets to shop a selection of high end retail outlet stores at two locations, Highway 17 and Highway 501. End your day with a visit to the infamous Myrtle Beach boardwalk and have dinner at the LandShark Bar & Grill Restaurant.
