Resident Stories

Rachel Petty

Moving to Del Webb Wilmington at RiverLights was a dream come true for me, and it seemed to flow so smoothly the entire way through the process.  In November/December of 2016, I began talking to Sales Agent Dustin Conkright, at the Del Webb RiverLights 55-plus community, about their plans for the development.  This RiverLights development was recommended to me by a long-time good friend of mine who knew I wanted to move to Wilmington, NC, from Asheville, NC.  That is how it started, and now it has become a reality!  I have to give Dustin Conkright the credit for encouraging me to get my house on the market and make my way to Wilmington as they were already pre-selling homes.

Dustin kept in regular contact with me and knew how eager I was to move here.  Little did I know that on April Fool’s Day of 2017, he would call me to tell me that a spec home had become available suddenly and that it would be ready by mid-May.  My Asheville realtor and Dustin, at Del Webb, worked their magic on that day.  We had two verbal contracts on the same day – one on my house in Asheville and one on the Del Webb RiverLights home in Wilmington!

On May 15, 2017, I closed on my home in Del Webb Wilmington having utilized Pulte Mortgage, who did a smooth and great job of making it happen on time with no last-minute nightmares involved.  Since that day, I have to pinch myself to realize that I am really here in what I consider my “forever home.”  I love my view of a pond behind me, which is within a natural wildlife habitat; watching the ducks and birds in the pond; and enjoying the beautiful sunsets I am fortunate enough to see out my back windows.

Del Webb RiverLights has done so much to make this a great community with wonderful people from all parts of the country and with varied interests.  There is always something to do here, so they don’t let you get bored.  Special credit also goes to the RiverLights Information Center “girls,” Catherine, Kace, Caitlin, Kris, and Lisa, who put their hearts and souls into making people feel welcome and providing all visitors interesting and informative facts about the community and its future endeavors.  They are constantly assisting in RiverLights community and homeowner events which provide excellent opportunities to meet and socialize with your neighbors.  My opinion is you cannot go wrong buying and moving into this RiverLights community.
