We have lived in Wilmington/Carolina Beach almost 28 years and love it. The city is extremely friendly and fun. Moving to a resort area has many advantages. There are always many excellent restaurants and an endless amount of things to do. It’s like being in a large town but have the advantage of smaller town life. We have been looking for years to find the perfect place to downsize, now that one son is off to college, but weren’t able to find everything we wanted in a single community until we found Riverlights. We are very active and love sports; swimming, walking, biking, SUPing, kayaking, boating, yoga and many others. We also have a special needs son that lives with us and Riverlights fit the bill for him. He can walk to restaurants and as the area develops to Dentist and Doctors offices. He also likes to ride his bike and Segway down the paths and will ride to the pool and workout facility. As we age we are also finding all these things very attractive.
Coming from the beach we are going to miss a few things but Riverlights will have a lot of the things to bring to the party. The biggest is being able to do standup paddle boarding, SUPing. Now where I live there is a basin that is 3 miles around and is great but at Riverlights the lake is 3.2 miles around, which is awesome. Having the trails to walk that are off road will be so much nicer than what we have now. We also love having Smoke on the Water and Magnolia’s Social Café which excellent restaurants within walking distance. We have been using the grounds already and have already made friends, matter of fact some of our friends have moved here also. Newland Communities really go all out to make their communities state of the art and beautiful and Riverlights is just that. They also have such nice parties and special events to make everyone feel welcome.
Moving into a new area is always scary, especially when they are just starting to build but when you look at everything they will have in the future really makes us feel comfortable about buying here. I checked into other Newland communities and they have always come through. Maybe this sounds like a sales pitch but after the amount of time I spent finding the right place it is very easy to recommend.
